How the umber RNA conversion kit tubes work
In RNA, the base uracil (U) takes the place of thymine. So each umber tube stands for uracil. Students swap the tubes into the model, and then they instantly see the key difference between DNA and RNA.
Also, the umber color is easy to spot, so it works as a memory aid. For example, umber and uracil both start with “U”. That helps students keep the two straight on test day.
What you can teach
